Gem State Cabinets and Refacing has spent 25 years building custom kitchens, built-ins, and cabinet refacing around Idaho Falls and Eastern Idaho. The old Elementor site was fine when it launched. Years of unnecessary plugins and JavaScript weighed it down. We rebuilt it for 2026 and made it fast when everyone browses on their phone.

Fine in 2016. Not aging well.
The old site was built 10 years ago on Elementor and WordPress. It worked back then. Over time, the plugin stack grew. More JavaScript. More code. More weight.
Now, everyone browses on their phone. The old site took too long to load. The page had to download every plugin before it could show the kitchens. That's not how a cabinet shop should show up in 2026.
- Elementor page builder. Drag-and-drop sections meant extra CSS, JavaScript, and rendering weight on every page.
- WordPress plugin stack. Years of updates added plugins the site didn't need anymore, each one adding more code to load.
- Full-size photos. The gallery was loading camera-resolution files on a phone instead of right-sized images.
- Slow first load. A phone had to wait several seconds before the main content appeared on screen.
We gave it
a makeover.
We moved the site off WordPress. No more Elementor. No more plugin stack. The new site is built on Astro and served from Vercel. Plain pages that load fast on a phone.
The work comes first. Each photo is sent at the size of the screen. The estimate form still works. Every request lands in their inbox as a branded email through Resend. Every lead is accounted for.

Then we measured it
with Google's phone test.
PageSpeed Insights is Google's test for how a page performs on a phone. It scores the page from 0 to 100. It measures how long the main content takes to show up. It checks if the page jumps around while it loads.
We ran it on the old Elementor site and on the new one. The old site scored 71. The main content took 5.4 seconds. The new site scores 100 for performance, accessibility, best practices, and SEO. The main content now appears in 1.5 seconds. The page doesn't jump. That's fast for a phone.
