Apex Private Chef had an established business and an aging WordPress site. We moved it to Astro, rebuilt the design around Jackson Hole, and made every page fast, editable, and easier to maintain.

A good business.
Too much website.
Apex cooks in private homes, at weddings, and for events across Jackson Hole and the Teton Valley. The public site had one job: introduce the chefs, show the work, and make it easy to inquire.
WordPress added a database, PHP, themes, plugins, and a public login to a brochure that did not need them. The look had drifted into generic hotel-template territory. The kitchens looked better in person than they did online.
- WordPress upkeep. Plugins, PHP, and a database for a small service site.
- A generic look. The old site no longer matched the Tetons or the food.
- Heavy photos. Food and mountain images had to stay sharp without slowing phones down.
- A weak inquiry path. The form needed spam protection and mail that actually arrived.
A look that fits
Jackson Hole.
The old layout felt like a hotel template. We rebuilt the type, the photos, and the pacing around the Tetons and the people who cook there.
Custom, not a theme
Type, photos, and pacing are built for this business. The hotel-template look is gone.
HTML, not WordPress
Astro builds the public pages. Vercel serves them. There is no plugin stack to keep patched.
An editor they can use
Sanity holds pages, photos, and reviews. Resend sends inquiries. Turnstile blocks the junk.
100 on every
desktop test.
Live PageSpeed Insights on the finished site. Four scores at 100, a 0.7s LCP, and a mobile homepage around 492 KB. We cut the font set from 20 files to 3, and phones no longer download desktop images.
